the first day

It's the first day ...

... of school!

And in our world, that normally doesn't mean a whole lot, since Husband and I have finished our university years (for now) and we don't have any little ones catching the bus.

It is, actually, Husband's first day at school today though, but now he's the teacher! After a long year of substituting, today is his first day in a term position at a new school, teaching a new bunch of kids physical education.

For us, it's the first day for a lot of things.

It's the first day I dragged my butt out of bed before 7:30 a.m. (I got up at 6:20 a.m. thankyouverymuch);

It's the first day we had to try to figure out what Husband could pack for lunch, since he can't take peanut butter, anything with nuts or anything to do with strawberries to the school because of students' allergies;

It's the first day of an exciting new adventure for Husband, and for us, because a term can lead to the stability of a full-time position at one school, which can lead to things like buying houses and starting our family.

It's the first day. And I couldn't be more proud.

  10. Fantastic! This sounds like the start of a wonderful year for you. Good luck with the lunch thing - I'm dealing with similar issues and have promised myself I'd come up with one interesting lunch recipe / idea a week and post about it. We'll see if I can keep that up!
