thumb's turning green

Turns out, I'm not as useless as I thought when it comes to gardening!

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

Exhibit C:

And by some stroke of a miracle, my houseplants seem to be thriving, too. And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that we now live in a first-floor home with lots of windows, sunlight and air circulation, instead of the stale-aired, million-degrees-in-winter box we used to inhabit ... but I digress.

I give a lot of credit to these little gems ...

My mum actually gave them to me as a gag gift last Christmas, poking fun at my lack of gardening skills, but joke's on her — they work like a charm! I fill these up and stick them in our houseplants. When I see that they're empty — usually about a week later — I know it's time to add more H2O. If you're horticulturally challenged like I am, give these a try.

  7. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found
a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had
    to tell someone!
