I was debating the cornmeal trick to get rid of ants as our favourite friends are back. I'm sure Rory will find and eat the cornmeal before it has a chance to do its thing. I like to buy organic when it comes to the stuff we eat most often: bananas and apples, for example. I don't worry about it too much - everything gets washed before we eat it anyway. I'm fussier about buying locally grown produce than organic. I would much rather eat the sweet little strawberries you can get in June than the massive beastly ones that are on sale in April and have next to no taste!

Oh yeah...been there as you said. I think what is hard about those moments is like what Heather said above, people seem to peer at you in judgement with a look of "get control of your child"! And what they don't understand is YOU CAN'T. Also, like you, it bothers me that I can't get them under control and communicate with them. The worst meltdowns have happened at home thank goodness, but we have had plenty in public from both boys (both under 5). Have a great rest of your week!

My two pregnancies were the exact same way. Boy, I could have demo'd a house AND built a new one from scratch with my own two hands with all the energy I had. Girl? FORGETIT. I was so sick that there were days I had my arm up to my elbow down my throat BEGGING to throw up anything, even if it was a vital organ, JUST GET IT OUT! I also found myself falling asleep anywhere and everywhere. There was more than one occasion where my cereal bowl was lobbed off the kitchen table because my arm knocked it off during a "jerk" reaction in an attempt to keep from falling a.) out of my chair as I passed out or b.) to keep my face from falling in the bowl. It was so bad. SO bad. Good luck girl.

I was going to say girl after reading about you being so sick. It seems like of the last 10 or so people I've known who were pregnant, everybody who got sick had girls and everybody who didn't had boys. It's an old wives' tale but there seems to be some truth to it. I hope you're feeling better!

I just got that email about the Costco prints, too, Amy. That is a great deal, especially when you have babies to photograph :)

There are definitely key times to go to Costco. Going around 4:45 on Tuesday worked well, hardly any wait time. Usually, the after-work hour is pretty good for getting in and out.

I'm with you on comparing the flyers. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only nerd out there who does it. In Sackville, the locations are so convenient. It's easy to hit both for the best prices.

Costco 4x6 photo prints are on sale until May 20 for 8 cents apiece (usually 16 cents, which is still an amazing deal). We always get our photos printed there and they do a good job!

I always make a grocery list after comparing the Sobeys and Superstore flyers and will go to both stores if it makes sense. I hate going to Costco for much more than the photo lab, just because the store aggravates me, but it looks like I need to start shopping there! One thing I almost always buy there is cereal. You can get an enormous box of Special K for about $5 and it's about double the size of the $5 box at the regular grocery store. Oh and Kirkland baby wipes - 900 wipes for $19.99!!
