I have an apology, and it is two-fold.
Firstly, I'm sorry for this inexcusably lame post title.
Secondly, I'm about to bore you with something extremely trivial.
I'm getting a hair cut. I had mid-back length hair for a while, which was perfect for maternity-leave, hair-pulling-baby-inspired ponytails. Then, when I started back to work and decided that my frizzy updo wasn't exactly professional, I got a just-above-the-shoulders bob. And now, I'm a teensy bit obsessed with short styles.
It's been eight whole weeks since my last cut and, without the help of my trusty flat iron, I'm starting to look like a sideshow clown. Not even one of the fancy clowns under the big top who everyone loves. The sideshow.
So, I'm looking at a few new ideas for cuts and I thought I'd share some pics with you.
#1: Whoa, that's short. I've never had my hair this short before, and I'm not really sure I'm brave enough for it either. But this looks great on Ginnifer Goodwin.

#2: Shorter bob. Two questions though: 1) What will this look like in brunette? 2) Can my mop be thinned enough to keep my head from looking like a Q-tip?
#3: The inverted bob. Sis-in-law A is the inspiration because she's been rocking this style for years.
#4: Please try to overlook the fact that this is Paris Hilton. I doubt my ability to keep these bangs under control.
Have any short haircut advice?

Love these, the first two especially! I've always been too scared to cut my hair shorter than a bob but have been envious of people who get their hair chopped. I think you could pull it off!
ReplyDeleteGo for the Ginnifer Goodwin look! I love her. That style would look great on you.
ReplyDeleteThe inverted bob (I had it for years) is difficult if you have a bit of wave, but definitely do-able. You have the bone structure to pull off any of these.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the big chop soon too, and I can't decide either! I want to go to a stylist who can tell me what looks good based on my face shape.
I am getting mine cut next Friday and like you, I am going short. Probably shorter then I have gone before (if my hairdresser thinks that is best of course). I am, and always have been, the girl who puts her hair in a ponytail if it is long enough to do so. I have really thick hair with enough wave to make it annoying so I either have to flat iron all the time or let it go wild which is never pretty. I love the pics you picked! All styles I would love to do! I think one of the first two would be amazing on you. I can't wait to see it!!
ReplyDeleteI think #3 would look great on you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback, ladies! Tomorrow's my appointment so I have about 24 hours to make a decision! As Allie said to me this morning, it's just hair, it'll grow back! I'm just scared of getting a haircut that requires a lot of work.
